Through the production and release of an hour-long documentary of “A Nation Remembers: The Story of the Pentagon Memorial,” 45 North Communications, an Ann Arbor, Michigan based production company has produced the official story of the building and dedication of America’s first national 9/11 Memorial. The documentary will be distributed as a gift of the Pentagon Memorial Fund to all 20,000 anticipated attendees at this Thursday’s dedication of the Pentagon Memorial in Washington, DC.
The documentary was produced by John B. Damoose and “Ance” Damoose – a father/son team who happened to be on the very corridor in the Pentagon when the plane hit on 9/11. At the time, they were working on a national television special on Arlington National Cemetery. John B. Damoose was the former Vice President of Marketing at Chrysler under Lee Iacocca. John and his son “Ance” formed 45 North Communications together in 2000.
The film includes original interviews conducted by 45 North Communications with President George W. Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Richard Myers, Senator Joe Lieberman, and a host of other governmental and Defense Department leaders. Central to the film are original interviews with a host of surviving family members who lost loved ones at the Pentagon on 9/11. Also featured in the film is an original song entitled “There Are No Words” by Ann Arbor performer “Kitty Donohoe” which was written in honor of the victims. This section of the documentary will be performed live at the Memorial Dedication.
Clips from the film will be featured on Thursday, 9/11/08 at the Official Dedication of the Pentagon Memorial, slated to be carried live on the three major broadcast network’s morning shows. The film will be also be screened outside the Pentagon during the evening ceremonies on 9/11 as the Memorial is first opened to the public.
John and “Ance” Damoose will be traveling to Washington, DC on Tuesday as part of the official ceremonies, and are available for comment via telephone at 734-476-7959.
